STALKER-SoC Single-Player Bugs


STALKER-SoC out of the box isn't just quirky -- it's buggy. GSC Gameworld has provided several patches since the game was first released in early 2007.

Patch Notes
1.0001 Some instability fixes -- minimum recommended patch for playability
Made armor deteriorate faster
Fixed the bleeding-reduction artifact problem
1.0002 Only released in Ukraine/Russia
1.0003 First version fully "large address aware" for better 64-bit compatibility

The list below is a compilation of the single-player bugs in the retail (1.0) version of STALKER-SoC that were not fixed in either patch 1.0001 or patch 1.0003, with a couple of bugs introduced by later patches. Fixes are noted by patch or by mod; mods inherit patch fixes.

The bardak bug fix attempts are for specific patch versions: bfa3 is for patch 1.0003, bfa4 is for 1.0004.

All ZRP versions work with patches 1.0004, 1.0005, and 1.0006. Some fixes require a new game.

Note N: Fix is all.spawn-based, requiring a new game.
Note 1: At least one of Skull's group must still be alive for fix to work on existing vanilla save.
Note 2: You can repair doors (fix), jump through them or remove them (workarounds).
Note 3: Fix is for future occurrences, so best results occur with new game.
Note 4: Loading a save while controller noise playing is not fixed, but noise will now fade when you die.
